Ontario Handspinning Seminar

Do you look at your spindle and experience dread? Maybe it’s not the right spindle for you! In this workshop we will look at techniques used for a variety of spindles, including suspended, supported, and in-hand. We will explore the advantages and disadvantages of the different types and learn which spindle is best suited for the fibre you want to spin. Students will have the opportunity to try several types of spindles and use them with and without a distaff. By the end of the session you will be able to assess a spindle to know if it is right for the fibre, technique, and end product you would like to achieve.
