Blending it all together
Our registration window will open Saturday, April 2nd at 8:00 am! The main registration fee covers everything except the live hands-on workshops. See below for more info about our workshops! All participants will have access to the Seminar 2022 section of the website until August 31, 2022.
Hand Made By You
What have you created in the last year or since your last Seminar? We hope that you take the opportunity to share your creations with the Seminar attendees by participating in our Hand Made by You virtual gallery. We've streamlined the process so it's easy to contribute! We can't wait to see what you've made...
We have so many people in our spinning community who produce or source fibre, have fibre businesses and/or fibre-related accessories that is very hard to resist! We invite you to explore their websites and contact them for more information.
This year we are excited to bring you two live keynote presentations! Teena Jennings will share 'Community Spinning in the Village of Soutanana, Madagascar' and Carson Demers will address 'A Spinner's Longevity'. Participants will be able to ask lots of questions in the Q&A sessions that follow the presentations.
Videos, Articles & Patterns
A dozen diverse and engaging 30 minute videos, articles and patterns have been prepared for your viewing, reading and making pleasure! Throughout the weekend, their makers will be available for the popular Q&A sessions like last year.
Live Hands-On Workshops
Would you like to also take one of our live hands-on, workshops? This year they are an enhancement feature available for an additional fee of $35.00/workshop. Choose to participate in one of our 9 diverse, two hour workshops! Register early (April 2 to 30) as there are limited spaces so be sure to sign up fast!
What's Going On
We are excited to share an amazing variety of spinning content with you in several different formats and from an equally amazing variety of people.
When it comes to the Handspinning Seminar, it's is all about people... People who want to share their joy and knowledge of handspinning.
Beginning on April 2nd, registrants will receive an invitation to join our private Facebook group for Seminar 2022. You will be able to connect with everyone who will also be attending the Seminar before, during and after our event!
Are you willing to lend a hand during the weekend? When you register, you will be able to indicate if you would like to help out as a volunteer during Seminar weekend. Your time and support is greatly appreciated!
Many hands make light work! Every year the Seminar is created by a small group of fibre-loving people who decided to get involved and collaborate to stage the event. Check out those folks who put this year's event together for you.
Extended Seminar Access
While all of the live events and social activities will occur during the Seminar weekend by registering you will have access to all the content until August 31st, 2022. Those who also register for a live hands-on workshop, you will also have access to the recorded video for that specific workshop until August 31st, as well!
The organizing committee has spent the fall and winter working hard to create another virtual Seminar. When we made the decision last summer to go virtual once again it was a difficult decision but it has allowed us to focus on creating the best event possible for you to enjoy.
The feedback we received from last year’s event was wonderful and incredibly helpful in shaping the 2022 Seminar. Over 20 people are contributing to this year’s Seminar content. Some of that content will be presented in similar formats to last year in videos and articles. In addition, we are also excited to bring you 2 live keynote addresses, 9 engaging live hands-on workshops and a few other surprises! Like last year, Seminar registrants will have access to the Seminar 2022 content until August 31st, 2022.
Last year’s social events were filled with laughter and inventive spinning and our plans for this year’s events will create a space for that again. We also have some extra surprises and treats in store for you. Last year some of you got together for watch parties and we are hopeful that you will be able to do so again this year.

According to the dictionary, blending is the action of mixing or combining things together. In fibre arts, this means a lot more than blending fibres or colours, although that is certainly one part of blending. We also blend techniques and disciplines. Blending fibres for felting, spinning yarn for weaving, weaving stories and fibre arts together to create new tales to be told. Communities are blended together through fibre arts, with people teaching others across the world. We blend so many aspects of our lives and fibre arts in all we do.
This year at the Seminar we will explore some of the many ways to blend it all together. The Organizing Committee is hard at work planning an IN-PERSON Seminar. We will blend vendors and spin-ins and competitions and workshops and a banquet and a fashion show! Keep an eye out for the Spring Newsletter, where we’ll introduce our keynote speaker and workshop leaders.
