Ontario Handspinning Seminar
Fleece Selection and Preparation
In this workshop, we will evaluate some raw fleeces to determine whether they are a good purchase and for what end-use. We will then do some hands-on prep and try spinning them for the end uses the class feels they are most suited for.
Bring the following: Hand carders, apron, spinning wheel, and niddy noddy.
Donna Hancock completed the Ontario Handspinning Certificate course in 2000. As the owner of Wellington Fibres Mill, she sees lots of different fleeces on a daily basis. She has been involved in the spinning community since 1988. A herd of Angora goats keeps her out of mischief.
