Workshop Description

Instructor Bio
As a child, Barbara Fawcett was fascinated with the story of the girl who, with magical help from an imp named Rumpelstiltskin, could spin straw into gold. About 12 years ago she embarked on a journey to turn that fascination into reality. A recent OHS Spinning Certificate graduate, Barb is currently exploring many concepts presented over the program’s six years, primarily focusing on the design of yarns using Ramie fibre as well as fibre grown in her husband's garden. A lover of all types of textiles, she spins, weaves, knits, crochets, quilts, and makes clothes for her grandchildren. She is a passionate dyer using both natural and commercial dyes.
