Barbara Fawcett has lived in Haliburton County her entire life. Much of her craft is inspired by the beauty of the Highlands. As a textile artist and graduate (2020) of the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners Spinning Certificate Program, Barb expresses her creativity through spinning, weaving, knitting, quilting, and sewing. She uses local natural plants as well as those specifically grown in her dye garden in the creation of her own handspun yarns. She also grows and processes flax to spin linen and linen-blend yarns for weaving and knitting. As a teacher, she loves to share spinning knowledge with her students and celebrate their achievements.
